Well, kind of.
Exactly 473,325 people saw this tweet at the time of me typing this newsletter.
Twitter is a deceptive slice of fame at times. It often leads to muted threads and letting folks battle it out on their own.
But Really, Big Tech is in Trouble for 2020
I didn’t lie when I tweeted this out. Every friend I have has a side hustle and most of them make money from that side hustle.
Literally chatted with a friend today who is a Chemical Engineer by day and runs a handbag eCommerce store by night. He’s looking for his big escape.
Personally, I believe remote work “first” will become the dominant train of thought in the global workforce for the next decade.
Brenden has the right idea here. There is a lot more we could all add to the conversation, but this is a great start.
Also, an aside, if you think working over 60-80+ hours a week for a salaried job is “normal” then you should re-evaluate your career or your skillset.
The idea of going into the office will quickly become antiquated as younger Millenials and Gen Z enter the global workforce. The idea that brilliance is harnessed in a formal office is an odd way to think of problem-solving.
Big Predictions for 2020-2030
Offices will become conference & innovation centers
Functional teams will orient themselves and co-locate
Organizations will get more “organized” internally
Investments in internal tools companies will skyrocket
Top talent will leave companies due to stagnant “work from home” policies
What are your ideas for the future as it relates to “work”?
Thanks for listening. Thanks for reading.
Ciao,
Corey
